​As of 2026, Japan has a visa waiver program for tourist and short-term stays of up to 90 days, and visas are not required for the United States, Canada, South Korea, Taiwan, and most European countries.

 

The visa requirements for tourists from India to Japan have also been significantly relaxed, making the process much smoother. On April 1, 2024, the "e-visa (single entry, 90-day tourist)" was introduced, further simplifying the process.
Please note: e-visas are currently not being issued at VFS Japan Bangalore. We will need to obtain a visa via the traditional stamped method instead.
